Trump vs Hawaii now
Trump vs Maryland?

Last year the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Trump Travel Ban. ;In a narrowly divided 5-4 ruling the Supreme Court Justices upheld the Travel Ban, allowing it to remain in place and showing support for Presidential Powers. The court followed the belief that a President’s main responsibility is, keeping America safe.

The 5-4 decision was a big victory for the Trump Administration’s first major policies. A policy that affected mostly Muslim countries that had no way of verifying ;who was on the planes that would fly to the US. ;

The ruling was ;a demonstration of the Court’s small conservative majority dealing a painful defeat to the court’s liberal Justices.

The Supreme Court had ruled in December for a third time that the Trump Travel plan could stay in place while legal challenges continued. ; This week’s ruling was the final victory needed for the ban to remain in place indefinitely.

Today’s decision will now allow enforcement of travel restrictions to the United States from six countries including Iran, Libya, North Korea, Syria, Somalia, Yemen and parts of Venezuela. ; These restrictions will keep travel restrictions in place allowing for more stringent background checks prior to entrance to the US. ;Those who have received waivers or refugee status will still be allowed to enter from these countries.
